Who We Are

The Festival is organized by the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association, a registered charity, with offices at 10820 – 119 Street

Our mission is to promote public awareness, understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity through an annual summer festival, as well as to provide educational events, programs and/or projects on a year-round basis

The Servus Heritage Festival is the primary undertaking of the Association, and over the years, attendance at the Festival has climbed steadily, culminating in a record 380,000 to 410,000 (estimated) people at the 2013 celebration

The Festival is what we’re best known for, but we’re also proud of this…

Food Bank

The Festival is Edmonton’s Food Bank’s single largest food drive, raising over 1,000,000 kilograms of food since we partnered with them. We are also a major fundraiser for them; having raised over $110,000 in cash and food tickets last year alone.

Charity

As a registered charity, we are also a fundraiser forEdmonton’s cultural societies. For many of the cultural organizations in attendance, the Servus Heritage Festival is their largest single fundraising event of the year. For every dollar that is spent on food at a pavilion at Heritage Festival, 85 cents goes to the cultural group that runs the pavilion. In 2015, we raised and distributed 2.5 million dollars for the 60+ cultural organizations that took part in the event. This money enables these groups to offer various services and facilities to their members.

Amphitheatre

The Edmonton Heritage Festival Association spearheaded the building of Hawrelak Park’s Heritage Amphitheatre. We celebrated the official opening of the $1.7 million Heritage Festival Amphitheatre, designed by noted architect Stephen Iu, in Hawrelak Park in 1986. The Amphitheatre is Western Canada’s largest outdoor seating venue with 1,100 theatre-style seats, along with grass seating for 2,000.
